Why are we told to eat the colors of the rainbow?

Plant foods bring phytonutrients, which are special plant chemicals that interact with your organs to heal your body. Simply put, these phytonutrients have medicinal properties that can improve the function of genes and strengthen metabolism. Specifically, green nourishes the liver and gallbladder, red nourishes the heart and small intestines, yellow benefits the spleen and stomach, white moistens the lungs and large intestines, and black nourishes the kidneys and bladder.
